To weld a frame for an animal enclosure or cage, you could try using an I-beam or something equally exotic and over-the-top. But it’s smarter to use T-profile. They have very high bending stiffness but are lightweight. And use T-corners to connect the T-profile. With them, it’s very easy to assemble metal structures from T-profile.
