Main types of gates by design:

- Roll-up (roller) gates: The gate curtain rolls up into a box above the opening. Economical and compact, they are often used in warehouses.
- Telescopic gates: A type of sliding gate where the panels slide past each other, which is useful when space for sliding is limited.
